Welome to Her Money Moves
Welcome to Her Money Moves.
Welcome to the inaugural post of Her Money Moves. I’m a MilSpouse, Mama, and personal finance devotee. This is my first foray into blogging and I want to share my knowledge and experiences about personal finance with you. All are welcome to read along but I am writing especially for my military friends and their families. This blog is for the PCS superstars, the dfas warriors, and the Household 6s that hold it down during deployments. Whether you are new to the game (the military) or you are in it for the long haul, this blog is for you.
Personal Finance is Personal
Personal Finance is really what it sounds like, it’s well, personal. To be financially successful means different things to different people. For me, that means making the most out of the hard-earned money we make and using it to enjoy life. I want to take fun vacations, drive a nice car, and treat myself to little splurges every now and then without having to count pennies. However, enjoying life for me also means that I am diligently saving and investing in the background because I want to enjoy the life my family and I have built when my husband’s military career is over.
This blog is about my personal finance experiences, so its not going to be about how I didn’t shop for a year, or how I made a month of crockpot meals for $10. But let’s get real, we’re also a military family, so its also not going to be about how to quit your day job and become a millionaire by age 30 (whoops that boat already sailed).
Do more with your money
I loooooove finance (money) and I looooooove to talk about it. I can’t help sharing the tips and tricks I’ve learned with my friends, so I thought this would be a great venue to share my knowledge with a wider audience. I plan to cover a number of topics to related to investing, retirement, side hustles debt, home ownership, SCRA, goal planning, etc. Come and learn from my failures, but hopefully more successes. Join me as I untangle the intricacies that surround military finance like TSP, the new BRS, SCRA, and any other alphabet soups combinations you can think of.
What do you want to know?
Do you have a topic you want to know more about or a question for me? Just ask, we can cover it! I’ve got a degree in Finance and about 10+ years of industry experience, but I don’t claim to be an expert, so send me your comments, complaints and don’t be afraid to challenge me.
